Make space for understanding

When an explanation does not click, repeating it in the same form may not help. Give learners another route into the topic while keeping the learning objective consistent.

   Choose a tricky concept

   Start with a lesson your class already knows. Identify the idea learners should be able to explain.

   Explore it in different ways

   Offer an explanation, a visual approach, and a practice activity. Encourage learners to switch approaches as their questions change.

   Check understanding together

   Ask learners to apply the idea to a fresh example. Review the reasoning, not just the final answer.
